the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 The purpose of IMPEF is to promote, improve,
develop and foster the appreciation,
understanding and education of the art and
science of music from any era and in all its
aspects, including but not limited to the
presentation - independently or collaboratively -
of: public concerts; music competitions and
other music connected presentations as well as
learning opportunities of people of all ages.
Summary of the main activities
in relation to those purposes
for the public benefit, in
particular, the activities,
projects or services identified
in the accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
The funding for educational work that we
secured from Worthing Community Chest was
partly used for educational visits to two primary
schools in February 2025.
We also held a live music event featuring Kenny
Fu a professional pianist attended by
approximately 80 people.
We were also engaged in planning:
-
a short tour featuring Yi Yang Chen
from the USA, who was the winner of
the 2018 Sussex International Piano
Competition, for late May/June 2025
and
-
an additional educational event using a
venue to which local schools would be
invited.
Statement confirming whether
the trustees have had regard to
the guidance issued by the
Charity Commission on public
benefit
Para 1.18 We confirm that we have regard to the Charity
Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

Achievements and Performance

SORP
reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to the
circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a whole.
Para 1.20 We ran our third live music event in
collaboration with the arts initiative ‘Artsspaces’.
Our audience was around 80, which was up
from our other post-covid events. This is
encouraging as far as the direction of travel on
audience numbers despite the continuing effect
of wider economic factors e.g., the increased
cost of living.
We offered the opportunity to a local,
professional musician to be a guest interviewer
at one of our live events.
We continued to explore planning future live
events and also educational work.

Financial Review

Review of the charity’s financial
position at the end of the

Para 1.21 Our live music event in November 2024 made a
loss, but this was expected. However, audience

thereby reducing the amount of the loss.
We continue to enjoy the support of a donor
who shares our aspirations for intimate and
friendly music events in Worthing and who
provided welcome funds to support our
activities.
