All activities are advertised locally and on the Society’s website. |

Para 1.20 | Educating and informing the public about industrial archaeology is the primary purpose of the Society. The holding of lectures and fieldtrips, open to all, fulfils that function. There are often visitors to the Society’s events. For preservation of heritage, the trustees keep a close watch on planning applications which may affect industrial heritage, and they submit responses to local authority planning departments. The Society is frequently asked for advice and information by members of the public and is happy to respond where possible. The Society is also consulted by various researchers and local authorities on matters of IA concern. |
