Para 1.17 | The objects of the CIO are: to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the community as the trustees see fit in particular but not exclusively by the following means: (1) To promote the efficiency and effectiveness of charities and the effective application and use of resources by non- charitable bodies for the public benefit in particular but not exclusively by providing or assisting in the set-up of community projects, supporting their administration and providing support services to them; and by facilitating partnership and co-operation in the voluntary sector: (2) The promotion of the voluntary sector for the public benefit, in particular but not exclusively by the following means: (a) identifying need in the voluntary sector and establishing projects or policies to address them; (b) liaising between charities, voluntary organisations, the local authority and other groups or organisations on relevant issues that affect members of the community; “the voluntary sector” means charities and voluntary organisations: charities are organisations, which are established for exclusively charitable purposes in accordance with the law of England and Wales voluntary organisations are independent organisations, which are established for purposes that add value to the community as a whole, or a significant section of the community, and which are not permitted by their constitution to make a profit for private distribution, voluntary organisations do not include local government or other statutory authorities. (3) to develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged community in such a way that are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society. (4) the relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability or other disadvantage. |

From the 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024, ROC Dawlish has a) continued it successful development of a family mentoring scheme in collaboration with the local Secondary School; b) co-chaired ‘Helping Dawlish’, the a collaboration it co-founded between key local agencies and charities, combatting the negative social effects of the cost- of-living crisis; c) successfully raised funds for a part-time Coordinator to run the Dawlish Community Larder, to help meet the needs of local families and individuals struggling to access basic foodstuffs, and d) continued to employ a Schools’ Coordinator who has successfully managed the many different projects we run through our local schools, including an peer-to-peer befriending scheme and an after- school drop-in project. |

Para 1.20 | ROC Dawlish continues to work strategically to foster community collaboration between charities and other local agencies for the public benefit, as co-chair of the collaborative network called Helping Dawlish. The charity has continued to provide essential and much-needed practical input into the wider community through the cost- of-living crisis, especially through running the Dawlish Community Larder, which supplies essential foodstuffs and other household groceries to local families in need. Through its Schools’ Coordinator, ROC Dawlish has also been further developing a family mentoring scheme, in partnership with the local Secondary School. This scheme works with local families struggling to get their young people to access education, for whatever reason, helping to improve school attendance. In addition, ROC Dawlish has been pioneering a supervised peer-to-peer befriending scheme between Year 9 and Year 7 students, as well as an after-school drop-in café both aimed at increasing young peoples’ successful engagement with education. |

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/12/2024.

Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
