In particular. I would like to thank Garfield Weston Foundation and Pilotlight for their support in developing our organisation wilh mentoring and advice. The organisatton is a Public Benefit Entity as defind by FRS 102. The accounts are prepared in Sterling which is the functional currency of the organisation. The impacl on the reported financial w)sition and financial p¢rforniance for the previous year are not affected by th¢ transition lo FRS 102. 1.2 Going concern At the time of approving the account% the Board have a reasonable exCtatIon that the organisatiom has adequate resources to continue in operational existen¢¢ for the fore5c¢abl¢ tvre. Thus the Board continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the a¢¢ovnts. 1.3 Charilable Funds Unr¢stricted funds available for us¢ at the discretion of the Board in furtherance of the general objectives of the organisation. Designated funds are unre5tri¢l¢d funds earniarked by the Board for particular purposes. Restricted funds are subjected to StriCtIonS on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the terms of an appeal. 1.4 Incoming resources All incoming resour¢¢s are included in the SOFA when the organi5ation is legally entitled to Ihe income and the amount ¢an be quantified with reasonable ac¢uracy. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistenl with use of the resources. Fund-raising costs are those incurred in seeking voluntary ¢ontribution5 and do not includ¢ th¢ ¢osls oldisseminating infonnation in the support of the charitabl¢ activities. 1.6 Debtors Trade and other debtors are r¢cognised at the settlement amount due aftcr any trade discounts offered. Prepayments are valued at Ihe atnount prepaid net of any trnde discounts due. 1.7 Cash and cash equivalents Cash and cash equivalcnts include cash in hand. deposits held at call with banks. other short temi liquid investments with original maturilies of three months or les& and bank overdrafts. Bank ov¢rdrafts are shown within EK)rrowings in current liabilities. 1.8 Credilors and provisions Crcditor5 and provisions are recognised where the organisation has a present obligation resulting from a past event that will probably result in th¢ transfer of funds to a third paty and the ainount due to settl¢ the obligation can be measured or estimated reliably. Cr¢dilors and provisions are norn)ally recognÈsed at their settlemenl amount after allowing for any trade discounts due. 1.9 Financial instruments Th¢ organisation ha5 financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic rinancial instruments. Basic financial instruments are initially recognised at transaction value and subsequently measured at their settlement value. Derecognilion offirtaneial liabililies Financial liabilities are derecognised when the organisation's contractual obligations expire or are discharged or cancclled. 1.10 Employee benefits The Cost of any Ltnused holiday entitl¢ment 15 recognised in th¢ year in which the employee's services are received. RESTRICTED FUNDS The National Community Lottery Fund - Deaf WomeD Taking Action for Themselves project This project started on 1.10.2021 and ends and 30.9.2024. The project enobles deaf women to recruit and trnin volunteers and organise workshops. The project also SUPPOTls deaf woinen's employability into work and other volunteering and edu¢alional opw)rtunities. Arts Council Deaf Gals Arty Party is an Arts and Crafts workshops project. This is due to end on 30.4.2024. We have delivered 21 workshops during the life of the project. Derbyshire Poliee and CriTne Commissioner- Deaf Abuse Free and Home Se¢urity service We are fortunate that DPCC has conlinu¢d io fiind our Deaf Abuse Free servic¢ iyhich has seen a metnber of staff becoming a qualifi¢d Doinestic Abusc Seniice Manager. The servi¢¢ aims to support and educate deaf women alK)ul different types of abuse and to SUPFK)rt them to a¢¢ess abuse services. The Krvice continues to work with a range of agencies to ensure that deaf women can ac¢ess emergency and essential support. DPCC also funds our home security service to ensure deaf women living in Derby and Derbyshire feels safe in their homes and wheii outdoors. Sport England Sport England is funding our Wild project that comes to an end on 31.10.2024. It pays for the delivery of outdoor rdmblin& swimming. and yoga. Skills for Care - Deaf-led Skills for Care Training P¥rtnership project The courses are for deaf. deafi)lind. and hard of hearing employerUserS and their PeOnal Assistants to access free accredited tsainin8 on: Deaf Equality training Taster BSL session Taster Deathlind Manual Communication and acquircd sensory loss An overview on how to communicate and supw)rt dealblind people Supix)rting and communicating with Deaf people with dementia. NHS Derbyshire Community Health serYice- Sexual and Reproductive be2l¢h project This project involved us delivering sexual he21th-based workshops to dealwomen living in Derby and Derbyshire. The aims of the project were to: improve accessibility for deafwomen to access their services, and educate deaf women on theirsexual health. Money S#ving Expert The funder has enabled us to dcliver Financial Capability for deaf women through provision of workshops. This project ended in May 2023. Sign Health Charity SHC funded D¢af-initely Women to help them to promote BSL 999 service in our area. This proj¢¢l ended in September 2023. NottiNgham5hire Poliee and Crime Commissioner- Deaf Abuse Free and Home Security seryice We are grateful that NPCC ¢ontinu¢s to fund Deaf Abus¢ Free service which has seen the appointment of Veroni¢a Stewart and latterly Laurd Jeffers in 1ComIng a qualified IDVA. The service aims are to support and educate deaf women about the different types of abuse and to support them to a¢¢ess abuse 5ervice5. The s¢rvi¢¢ continues to work with a range of agencies to ensur¢ that deaf women can access their ergencY and essential support. The Home Security projeci aims to make vulnerdble deaf wom¢n living in Nottinghamlshirc feel safe in their own homes with free advice and safety pr(ducts. This project started on 5.9.2022 and ends on 31.3.2025. Derby Well-being service This is an emotional and well-being service funded by the NHS. The project started on 1.7.2022 and ended on 30.6.2023. Aetive Derbyshire Active Derbyshire funded a rdnge of physical workshops throughout tkrbyshire. -19-
