REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES for the year ended 30 June 2023

CHARITABLE OBJECTIVES

Leicester Lions Club was formed in 1952 as an unincorporated society,

On 20th September 2019 it registered with the Charity Commission and converted to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

It is a member of Lions Clubs International whose objectives are:

To create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world; To promote the principles of good government and good citizenship; To take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community; To unite the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding;

To provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest; provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by club members.

To encourage service-minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavours.

ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR

The trustees and members meet approximately twelve times a year to arrange fund raising events, manage projects and make grants from the club's funds.

During the year, due to post Covid limitations the Club raised only £3098 or charitable purposes and made charitable donations of £5,205.

The policy of the Trustees is not to accumulate reserves but to maintain sufficient cash to meet the immediate requirements of the Club.

TRUSTEES AND OFFICERS

The trust deed allows for a maximum of twelve trustees who are elected to serve for a tem of three years. The trustees who have served from 20th September 2019 are:
