|26,415.89| Signed on behalf of the trustees: Treasurer ## **Leicester Lions Club CIO** Registered number: 1185411 REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES for the year ended 30 June 2023 ## CHARITABLE OBJECTIVES Leicester Lions Club was formed in 1952 as an unincorporated society, On 20th September 2019 it registered with the Charity Commission and converted to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. ## It is a member of Lions Clubs International whose objectives are: To create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world; To promote the principles of good government and good citizenship; To take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community; To unite the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding; To provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest; provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by club members. To encourage service-minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavours. ## ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR The trustees and members meet approximately twelve times a year to arrange fund raising events, manage projects and make grants from the club's funds. During the year, due to post Covid limitations the Club raised only £3098 or charitable purposes and made charitable donations of £5,205. The policy of the Trustees is not to accumulate reserves but to maintain sufficient cash to meet the immediate requirements of the Club. ## TRUSTEES AND OFFICERS The trust deed allows for a maximum of twelve trustees who are elected to serve for a tem of three years.
