THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: A) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT, THE ROLE OF INVESTMENT MANAGERS AND Summary of the objects of the RELATED ASPECTS OF PERSONAL FINANCE; B) FOR THE BENEFIT OF SUCH charity set out in its CHARITABLE INSTITUTIONS RECOGNISED AS CHARITABLE UNDER ENGLISH LAW WHICH ARE CONNECTED WITH THE CITY OF LONDON, INCLUDING ANY governing document CHARITIES NOMINATED BY THE LORD MAYOR OF LONDON; AND C) SUCH FURTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS ARE CHARITABLE UNDER ENGLISH LAW FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, AS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT FROM TIME TO TIME. The Trustees have regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit. This is the charity’s first year and it started with no assets. No charitable disbursements were made during the year. The Trustees attracted modest donations and spent the year preparing its website, opening a bank account, registering with HMRC for Gift Aid and designing a logo. Policy Documents covering, Conflict of Interest, a register of interests, the role of the Chairman, the role of the Secretary, Trustee Recruitment and Induction Policy, Grant Making Policy and Fundraising Policy were written and approved. A Minor Protection Policy was also drafted. Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
