A plan for developing Plush Paddock as a
biodiverse area of recreation for the
community was drawn up and approved
at community meetings.
The first phase of this plan was
implemented in November and December
2022 with the planting by tree adopters
and volunteers of 27 trees in a communal
orchard. The trees, stakes, ties and
guards were sourced through a Tree
Council grant. A further 8 non orchard
trees and 450 whips to create a new
hedge were planted by volunteers in
March. The trees and whips were
supplied by the Tree Council.
The hedges were trimmed to keep a tidy,
wildlife supporting perimeter and wildlife
corridor.
An area for recreation was established
through periodic topping and mowing to
enable community gatherings and parties
to be held.
