A plan for developing Plush Paddock as a biodiverse area of recreation for the community was drawn up and approved at community meetings. The first phase of this plan was implemented in November and December 2022 with the planting by tree adopters and volunteers of 27 trees in a communal orchard. The trees, stakes, ties and guards were sourced through a Tree Council grant. A further 8 non orchard trees and 450 whips to create a new hedge were planted by volunteers in March. The trees and whips were supplied by the Tree Council. The hedges were trimmed to keep a tidy, wildlife supporting perimeter and wildlife corridor. An area for recreation was established through periodic topping and mowing to enable community gatherings and parties to be held. |
