|---|---|---|
| Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document |
Para 1.17 | The purpose of Lambeth Street Pastors is to advance the Christian faith in accordance with the Street Pastor License Agreement with the "Ascension Trust" through: (i) the provision of public pastoral care services to help people on the streets and other public places, giving guidance, support and signposting which assist in preserving public order, prevent anti-social behaviour, relieve sickness and preserve health, and by (ii) enlightening others about Christianity through raising awareness and understanding of ecclesiastical relevance to community and public life, mobilizing the church ecumenically to unity of worship and to advance the Christian faith by carrying out the mission and outreach work of the gospel. To develop the capacity and skills of socially disadvantaged groups in our community in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society; in particular but not exclusively through raising awareness, promoting, sustaining and increasing individual and collective knowledge, skills and expertise, through the practical development of individual capabilities, competences, skills and understanding through formal training, informal talks and capacity building in voluntary services, according to Christian principles and the Street Pastor Urban Trinity principle of church, police and local government working together for the benefit of the community. |

Achievements and Performance
| SORP reference |
||
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | In addition to the consistent patrolling of the streets and continued interaction with school children, the main achievement of the charity is that it’s continually invited by local businesses and community leaders to partner with them to make the community safer and better for the residents. The health and social care training will enable Street Pastors and School Pastors to interact better with both young and mature people with challenging behaviours they encounter during their patrols on the streets and work in schools. The Parent Support Group in the Lambeth area is critical as, unfortunately, Lambeth continues to rank highly as a borough with high youth gang involvement, drug dealing |
and county lines issues. This group gives Street Pastors a way to support parents who find themselves in such situations.
Financial Review
| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | At the end of 2022 we were in a healthy financial position going into 2023. The only person in the organisation who is paid is the coordinator so there were no concerns going forward. |
|---|---|---|
| Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held |
Para 1.22 | Lambeth Street Pastors doesn’t have a specific policy re holding money in our account. All monies donated to the work of Lambeth Street Pastors are held in our bank account. Whatever our balance is at the end of the year we review this to see how much money we need to raise, if any, for the following year to ensure that our financial responsibilities can be met. |
