Para 1.17 and 1.19	The Foundation assists Appian’s portfolio companies in allocating capital into the most impactful social and environmental programmes, e.g.: • Sponsoring Professional Courses for teachers and pupils • Donations for children • Fostering families from Itagiba to produce cocoa and chocolate through a land free-lease agreement • Partnership with SEBRAE (Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Business) to aid local businesses • Improving environmental sustainability of Appian’s portfolio companies • Revegetation programs • Kalbar community grants program

Para 1.20	• Educando is an onsite training and online training for teachers and pupils at MVV and setting up home family gardens. • Fingerboards Mineral Sands Community Grants Program. Five $1000 grants to be provided three times per year. Based on a set of criteria, these grants must have a direct positive outcome for the local community, adding to a project in a positive and sustainable manner. • Covid 19 Community support initiatives: - Donations of tests, masks and antibacterial cleaning equipment, thermometers - Street sanitation with water tank - Support for the installation of a health unit caring for patients with covid 19

Financial Review

Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period	Para 1.21	The income for the period was raised through charitable contributions. There have been no expenses thus the net asset value of AWCF is positive.

The Charity does not typically directly invest capital, rather it advises Appian portfolio companies on how best to contribute capital to local communities.
