FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THE RELIEF OF SICKNESS AND THE PRESERVATION OF HEALTH AMONG PEOPLE RESIDING PERMANENTLY OR TEMPORARILY IN CROYDON AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS Summary of the objects of the chari- THROUGH THE PROVISION OF MEDICAL AWARENESS TALKS (MATS), ty set out in its governing document YOGA CLASSES AND ANY OTHER WAYS IN WHICH THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT As a charity, trustees of SNGDSUK recognises the requirements to clearly demonstrate the objects of the charity which are for the public benefit. In summary, the identified benefits to the public are: Increased health awareness to communities living in Croydon borough by conducting monthly drop-in sessions which includes medical awareness talks in our hired hall at West Thornton Community Hall, Croydon. To reduce stress, anxiety, and develop better balance, flexibility and strength, we have carried out social cohesion events, yoga sessions and Christmas celebration. Organisation also carried out yoga sessions twice a week at Haslemere Hall, Croydon for every Saturdays from 8:30AM to 9:30AM and at Queens Community Centre Hall, Croydon for every Tuesdays from 7:00PM to 8:00PM. SNGDSUK have conducted online yoga sessions as well to promote health awareness. The community funded project “Recovery” began on April 2022 , and expecting to end by March 2023.The project met in bringing people together that led to Summary of the main activities un- better relationships in our BAME communities. Summary of the main achievements
Increased health awareness to economically disadvantaged communities living in
of the charity during the year
our borough. Increased participation for yoga classes with significant improvement in
physical and mental health for these attendees. Increased public participation and com-
munity cohesion through our drop-in sessions in the BAME communities.
