Independent examiner's report to trustees of RAYiEIGH LIONS CLUB (CIO) CHARITY NO 1184449 I report on the accounts of the Fund for the year ended 30 June 2025 which are set oui in the attached pages. Respective r&8ponsibilities of the t￿￿teeS and e￿￿nIner. The charity's trustees are responsible for the prepardtion of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit 15 not required for th¢ year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to- Examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act. To follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the iharity Commission under section 143(5j(b) of the 2011 Acl: and To state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's report My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Cotnmission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a Gomparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit 2nd consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a'true and fair view, and the report is limited to those natters set out in the stateJnent below. Advisors- None employed Structure, Governance and Management: The Trustees administer the funds and seek from the general public opportunities to assist with charitable projects in the local atea and within the Lions organisation. Th¢ memb¢r3 of the Club decide which requests should be considered for funding and the amount theteof. The TnF5tees aware of the risks assumed in the operation of the Trust and have Considerable experience of Fundraising activities. The annual fireworks display is the largest of these and is subjected to health and safety assessment. Insuran¢¢ is carried to ￿Ver all activities and it is Considered that with this the risks to the Trust and its TDJStees are significantIy reduced. No induction programme is proved for new Trustees as they are trained by the existing office-holders in the Operational procedures required to be undertaken. eliverin Public Benefit Most of our fundraising events were able to take pla￿ this year. These included the fireworks display, quiz night, and Christmas sleigh and lights ceremonies. The profits from these activities enabled us to donate £13,299.99 towards community projects. Smaller wntainers have bee￿ obtaineAI. This has reduced costs for storing the sleigh and fundraising 4uipmenL The amount of money th* was raised has been available for charitable and community, local. national and intemational causes. Awards were made to SUPPOrt or provide for proj￿. when requested providing vital equipment and support for a few individual& local needy and disabled residents who could not afford it themselves to enable them to improve their quality of life. All donations are listed under Community Service Donations within the Expenditure section. ac Fund The Trustees have again considered projects that Can be funded from the Legacy but these must comply with the restrictions placed on the bequest and meet further conditions proposed by the club's members. Unfortunakly, no projects could be foundlfunded this year that could not be funded from the Charity's Community Account. The £40.000 invested for the long terni in January 1999 remains to allow fvmre projects to be funded from the investsnents. which stand at £13,570.98 with Black R(￿k Snd £30.366.00 with M & G. Investments. The present Tru5t¢es of the Legacy accounts are Lions Graham Roberts and Irene Frances Pracy.
