Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 During the year under review the
charity’s main achievements were:
Continuing to raise funds for, and distributing
emergency food relief in response to the
Covid-19 pandemic. The distributions were
made to TFCM supported families and also
the wider communities in which we operate.
This was to prevent widespread famine.
TFCM distributed essential items for survival
and protection (food, soap and masks) to
hundreds of families through multiple
distributions throughout the year in mention,
ensuring they had adequate food supplies
throughout the entire year.
Further increasing the number of children
covered by our ‘sponsor a child’ scheme.
This enables sponsors to support these
children by enabling them to attend
schooling and have the associated
resources they need provided to them.
Further increasing the number of elderly
women covered by our ‘befriend a granny
scheme’. These are elderly woman who are
either living on their own or looking after
grandchildren and therefore in need of
practical and financial support. This enables
sponsors to support these neglected
community members by providing regular
monthly funds to supply food and home
essentials to them.
Whilst schools in Uganda were closed due to
Government lockdowns due to Covid, we
provided home schooling materials in
accordance with the national curriculum for
nursery, primary and secondary school
children.
Improvements were made to facilities in our
nursery and primary school in Kalagi, in
particular providing new classroom desks for
the Primary 7 class.

Achieved Ugandan Governmental compliance certification for eligible pupils to return to school in order to take their relevant examinations during the Covid lockdown period. Further provision of dress making classes for young adults, plus the financial support to start a Covid mask masking class to support the community with mask provisions.
