Witney Lions Club (CIO)were able to support a wide range of community
groups and individuals
during 2022-2023.

to enable them to work and provide support
within the

As well as the Dream Scheme further donations

individuals

families
in need as well as organisations
supporting

local area. This included
grants to the local food bank to provide support
to those most in need
in our community.

This year's Witney Lions Dream Scheme distributed
over F5000.The
Scheme was funded
by the money raised from our Christmas
collections.
These funds were pledged
and paid out to twelve community
groups and
clubs across the area we cover. These groups and clubs support a wide
range of activities and support
in the community
ranging
from reading
support
in schools, to adult, youth, the elderly and children's
groups.
As part ofthe Lions Clubs International
British Isles Projects and
in
collaboration
with local opticians we have set up spectacle recycling
bins.
The used spectacles are collected and taken to a UK central collection
point where they are processed
and recycled supporting
community
eye
clinics across the world. 10,000 pairs ofspectacles were sent for
recycling
by this project from our area.

we support the nationally

Lions Message
in a
Bottle and Message
in a Wallet national
project working
with local groups
to distribute
these, thereby
supporting
this lifesaving
service.
