The role of Sheringham Coaslwatch is to ensure safe passage across the local sea to a 1 &mile radius. This applies to all users. from large container ships to people swimming. Periods where we have limited numbers of alerting adivrties are seen as positive outcomes as sea users and path walkers will be safe. Generally, vthen alerts must be raised, then our volunteers will be working against to dock to gather search and resciie organisational support to render support to those in need. As a rule, rf the problem area is from the edge of cliff and out to sea, then His Majesty's Coastguard is infomied. If the problem is inland from the clrff edge, then Fire, Police and Ambulance or notified as appropriate, with Coastguard nottfjed post- event.
