Para 1.38 The charity is heavily dependent on
volunteers for the upkeep and maintenance
of the hall, children’s play area and
grounds.
Volunteers are also actively engaged in a

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 This was the second full year of the
recently formed Wolverley Memorial
Charitable Trust.
Despite the ongoing disruption caused by
the Pandemic the Charity was able to
continue to make available all its
community-valued assets in Covid ’19
secure environments.
The Charity continued to incur additional
Covid related costs and a loss of rental
income, some of which was covered by
financial support from local and national
grant funding.
The most significant achievement in the
year was the completion of the external
recladding work to the exterior of the
Memorial Hall, sustaining its future use and
providing a watertight and damp free
environment for the Hall.
With the benefit of a Grant from the
National Lottery Reaching Communities
Fund received in September 2021, the
Charity was able to start planning the work
to redecorate and substantially modernise
the interior of the Hall.

Para 1.41
This was the second year that the Charity’s

Covid ‘19 and the Government restrictions
that were applied.
These restrictions adversely affected the
Charity’s aim to broaden and extend the
use of the Hall by more organisations and
individuals in the furtherance of the
Charity’s objects.
The Charity adjusted its strategy for the
year to take account of the pandemic and
focussed on 4 key objectives:
1. to continue to make available its facilities
within a Covid ’19 secure environment
when Government restrictions allowed.
2. to carry out essential repairs to the
Memorial Hall, addressing the major
operational risk identified by the Charity.
3. To explore opportunities for Grant
funding
4. To develop the newly formed CIO
following the merger with the Memorial Hall
Charity, including the review of policies and
recruitment of new staff and volunteers.
All these objectives were achieved.
Fundraising was limited to three Car Boot
Sale in the year because of the impact of
the pandemic.
