The Club President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, elected Trustee selection methods each AGM for the following year, are Ex-Officio Trustees. Other named (eg. appointed by, elected by) Trustees are also elected by the Club Members.

Cranleigh and District Lions Club is a local club formed as part of The International Association of Lions Clubs, a voluntary service organisation that helps, supports and guides local clubs to serve their community. (see below for Training)

Clubs are Chartered as separate entities with their own constitution, but have links to other clubs in their Zone, their District, the Multiple District of the British Isles and to The International Association of Lions Clubs.

The administration of the Club is wholly financed by the members. Our time organising activities to raise funds and provide community service is given freely and without payment or reward. Members pay an annual subscription of £90 that contributes towards the administration of our local Club and Dues to Lions Club District, Multiple District and International.

Section C Objectives and activities

The Objects of the Club are such purposes as are exclusively charitable in England & Wales, including in particular:

a) the advancement of citizenship by: - promoting the principles of good citizenship. - encouraging members to take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community. - providing a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest, provided that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by members. - encouraging service-minded people to serve their community without personal reward and encouraging the promotion of high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavours; - supporting youth to develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

g) promoting community participation in healthy recreation.

During the period July 24 to June 25, which was the 50[th] Anniversary Year of our Charter, the Club members were able to: -

Project Wenceslas ran from October to March attracting donations from locals despite not receiving the Winter Fuel Payment. These donations are used for the relief of fuel poverty or fuel debt.

Also, we continued to assist local Ukrainians via the ‘One Cranleigh for Ukraine’ community project and to house and re-house many Ukrainian families in our locality.

Welfare requests and Wenceslas disbursements are administered by their respective teams with proposals being brought before the Club and Trustees for approval. Any proposal with a possible conflict of interest for any club member is first reviewed by the Board of Trustees.

The Club takes its responsibility for the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community very seriously and donations towards community projects are frequently supported.

The Club had 56 members by the end of the year. In undertaking our work, we also rely on other supporters and the Friends of Cranleigh Lions Club, who all give their time freely and without payment or reward. Without such dedication and support we would not be able to function and achieve as much as we do.

Two local Organisations have utilised Lions Club members expertise with organising parking arrangements at the Showground for which payment has been made to our Admin Account (Members Funds).

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

In addition to organising the above events to benefit the local community, during our 50[th] Anniversary Year, we were able, during this period to Donate c £95,000 - (£101000 last year) to local good causes from the proceeds of those and other activities and inward donations from local donors during the year. Over £25627 was donated to local individuals, families or groups through our general Welfare Donations. The One Cranleigh for Ukraine Fund has distributed over £10595 and still had available funds of over £953. Over 200 Christmas Hamper Food Vouchers were provided at a cost of £15036 Youth projects £3317

We made over £18917 of general donations to local individuals, groups and organisations.

One Stop Community Project £548 Air Ambulance Kent, Surrey and Sussex received £9500. Project Wenceslas donated £733 to help with Fuel poverty.

Multiple District Donations to Lions International Foundation for disaster relief and Medical Appeals and good causes received some £1500. Schools Welfare Funds received £1500.

A Grant to Cranleigh Heritage Trust CIO for the Cottage Hospital project of £7500. Message in a Bottle project £169.

We hold £10k in one deposit account as a contingency to protect the Club from the risks associated with running a number of outdoor events, whose income may vary from year to year depending, primarily, on the weather conditions on the day of the event.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above
charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended30 / 06 / 2025.
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011
(“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
