Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {"the Act"). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515}Ib) of the Act. When planning the activities, the Trustees have considered the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission and ensured we are carrying out the purposes for which we were set up.
The administration of the Club is wholly financed by the members. Our time organising activities to raise funds and provide community service is given freely and without payment or reward. Members pay an annual subscription of £70 that contributes towards the administration of our local Club and the Lions District, Multiple District and International Clubs

Section C Objectives and activities
The Objects of the Club are such purposes as are exclusively charitable in England & Wales, including in particular: a) the advancement of citizenship by: - promoting the principles of good citizenship. - encouraging members to take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community; - providing a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest, provided that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by members. - encouraging service-minded people to serve their community without personal reward and encouraging the promotion of high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavours; - supporting youth to develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

During the period July 23 to June 24 the Club members were able to: -
-
provide Gazebos for the Rectory Fete and assisted that event. - run our 21st annual Classic Car Show at the showground Cranleigh. - organise and run the annual community Bonfire and Fireworks celebration.

operate another successful Market Stall in the run up to Christmas. - assist at the Remembrance Sunday memorial service. - conduct our Christmas activities with Santa visiting the many estates in Cranleigh and new ones but not distributing gifts or collecting bucket donations. We were able to provide over 200 Christmas Gift/food vouchers in place of Christmas Hampers to individuals and families locally.

We were also the conduit for The One Stop Community Project and for the refurbishment of a local Playpark.
Project Wenceslas ran from October to March attracting donations from locals who received but did not need the Winter Fuel Payment. These donations are used for the relief of fuel poverty or fuel debt.
Also, for part of this period we continued to collect funds for the ‘One Cranleigh for Ukraine’ community project and to house and re-house many Ukrainian families in our locality.

Welfare requests and Wenceslas disbursements are administered by their respective committees with proposals being brought before the Club and Trustees for approval. Any proposal with a possible conflict of interest for any club member is first reviewed by the Board of Trustees.

The Club takes its responsibility for the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community very seriously and donations towards community projects are frequently supported.
The Club had 57 members by the end of the year. In undertaking our work, we also rely on other supporters and the Friends of Cranleigh Lions Club, who all give their time freely and without payment or reward. Without such dedication and support we would not be able to function and achieve as much as we do.

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
In addition to organising the above events to benefit the local community we were able, during this period to Donate c £101,000 - (£110000 last year) to local good causes from the proceeds of those and other activities and inward donations from local donors during the year. Over £19779 was donated to local individuals, families or groups through our general Welfare Donations. The One Cranleigh for Ukraine Fund has distributed over £22870 and still had available funds of over £8548.
Over 200 Christmas Hamper Food Vouchers were provided at a cost of £12519. Youth projects £15152. We made over £13083 of general donations to local individuals, groups and organisations.
One Stop Community Project £5649.
Air Ambulance Kent, Surrey and Sussex received £1000. Project Wenceslas donated £2745 to help with Fuel poverty. Multiple District Donations to Lions International Foundation for disaster relief and Medical Appeals and good causes received some £4524.
Schools Welfare Funds received £4000.

We hold over £10k in one deposit account as a contingency to protect the Club from the risks associated with running a number of outdoor events, whose income may vary from year to year depending, primarily, on the weather conditions on the day of the event.
