Activities
We run a community hub through which we offer a safe and welcoming space by hosting activities which bring together people from different cultures, ages and backgrounds who live locally.All activities are based on community consultation and we prioritise groups run by local people themselves.Example activities are music workshops, fun days, craft and cooking groups, celebrating festivals etc.
Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:to Develop The Capacity And Skills Of Members Of The Socially And Economically Disadvantaged Community Of The Lingfield And Fir Tree Estates And The Surrounding Area In Such A Way That They Are Better Able To Identify, And Help Meet, Their Needs And To Participate More Fully In Society. To Promote Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit By Preventing People From Becoming Socially Excluded, Relieving The Needs Of Those People Who Are Socially Excluded And Assisting Them To Integrate Into Society.for The Purpose Of This Clause ‘Socially Excluded’ Means Being Excluded From Society, Or Parts Of Society, As A Result Of One Or More Of The Following Factors: Unemployment, In Work Poverty, Financial Hardship; Youth Or Old Age; Ill Health (Physical Or Mental); Poor Educational Or Skills Attainment; Or Relationship And Family Breakdown. Nothing In This Constitution Shall Authorise An Application Of The Property Of The CIO For The Purposes Which Are Not Charitable In Accordance With Section 7 Of The Charities And Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 And Section 2 Of The Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
