Achievements and Performance
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
The Group met 1 day per week in a space shared with a local Makerspace Group. In the first year we have managed to increase the membership to 17 members. This had enabled us to consider increasing the number of days. (Lockdown forced us to stop this development) We have continued to work with other local charities to provide wildlife equipment- Hedgehog Pods and Bird Boxes and provided skilled personnel in support of a ‘Repair Shop’ facility enabled by another charity. Members worked individually on shared projects and provided the requested items. During lockdown we maintained contact with our members by using Zoom Meetings and a weekly bulletin we called The Bugle. WhatsApp was a very potent tool in maintaining the contact between members of the group. During Lockdown we managed to completely rebuild a Santa Sleigh for a local charity. This was by no means an easy feat given the restrictions. But working within the rules we managed to complete the task and work safely with no infections. Our reputation for quality finish meant we were commissioned to make private sales for wildlife equipment to support the groups income. As a group we offered our members The opportunity to talk to each other in a safe environment about themselves Support for a number of members who had mental health issues on a one-to-one basis Supported each other via a variety of communication routes during Lockdown |
