TRUSTEES END OF YEAR REPORT
To whom it may concern.
I am happy to report that the Association is still strong in numbers and financially secure.
Since the departure of St. Anne’s R.C. school in July the Association has been adjusting to somewhat of a normal existence. There have been some casualties since we recommenced our normal programme and I am sad to report that "The Skinny Pigs activity class", the Aikido class, and the Slimming World have all disbanded and will not return. I am pleased to report the "Dance Fusion" and the Nursery groups are both performing well and the rental rates have been adjusted to reflect this increase in numbers.
The Football activities continue to pose challenges due to high numbers and lack of space. You may recall that following the introduction of St. Anne’s into our club to use our facilities we have been fortunate enough to have a "one-off" extra income of £200,000 which will be ring fenced, as agreed with Gateshead Council for the procurement and construction of a full size 3G pitch which will alleviate many of our problems due to lack of space, hire of external venues, and games cancelled due to bad weather.
With the support of the Trustees the Association began discussions with Gateshead Council and the Football Foundation and I am happy to report that 1st. stage planning has been granted and discussion are advancing with the Football Foundation and we recently were informed that we have been accepted by the F.F. subject to sufficient funds being available.
It is possible that we could be in a position to make a bid in Jan 2025, however indications are that the F.F. will consider our application in July2025 with completion of the project July/August2026.
Overall a very interesting and challenging future ahead.
Like all organisations we are fully aware of the challenges which face us in the forthcoming months, however I am confident that we have the expertise within our organisation to continue our community work.
We continue to follow the guidelines as directed by the Charity Commission and other bodies that we are in partnership with.
