It offers young people (14-30) the opportunity to meet people from different faiths and none and directly engage with leaders in our society. | The Diversity Programme, supported by Mosaic, a mentoring initiative founded by HRH The Prince of Wales and the Times Education Supplement, was launched in 2014 by the Deputy Prime Minister, Rt Honourable Nick Clegg. The Programme encourages young people from minority and disadvantaged communities to visit cultural institutions and provides them with unique opportunities such as visits to St James Palace and Clarence House to learn about the rich heritage of diverse role models in Britain, like Princess Saphire Singh, who played a vital role in the Suffragette movement. The Foundation looks at Free School Meal Data when selecting schools for the programme. Naz Bokhari Award The Naz Bokhari Award is an annual award for students who achieve university acceptance despite adversity, who have to strive harder than others due to personal or social issues. This award recognises resilience and perseverance, qualities that Naz had, and promoted. Nominated by their peers and teachers at Ernest Bevin College, the winner is chosen by the Principal each year. |
