Re5ponslblllties and basis of report As the charity Trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {'the Act'l. I report in respect of my examination of the charitrfs accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Dirertions given by the Charity Commission under section 145{5llb} ofthe Act. Independent examinèrfs 5taternent I have completed my examination: I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: l. accountin8 records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act: or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records: or 3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerningthe form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Report51 Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. Obje¢tives and activittes: The objectives and activities of the organisation are to continue to suptK)rt and house homeless and vulnerable people in Bridlington and the surrounding district through its partnership with Green Pastures. Trustees, Report contitiutd The two leased houses, which have been leased through Green Pastures on Thorpe Streel and Havelock Street, Bridlington, have continued to be run etTicientl}' duringv the year. However: major refurbishment was needed at Havelock Stre¢1 wh¢n tenants left during the summer of 2024. Due to the main Housing Support OtTiceVs ongoing health issues. he resigned from his position on 29 November 2024. The part-time Housing Support Office was offered and accepted the available 20 extra hours and commenced on December as the sole Housing Support Office on 30 hours per week. In support of the Housing Support Officers. the Trustees have meetings with th¢m every two months, as well as Rev Richard Hare supp)rting them daily. Reports are brougbt to the meetings which include a building report. report on achievements Teached with the residents and the reporting of any on-going prob1ell￿ that they are encountering witb tbe residents. The Trustees of the Charity take their responsibilities SeriO￿$1y and all policies needed in relation to running a Charity of this type are in force. Th¢s¢ include: _ Disability and Benefits Consortium (DBC) policy Dignity and Diversity policy GDPR and Privacy policy Grievance procedure Health and Safety policy Whistleblower policy Public benefit The Trustees of the Charity mainly made up of Clergv and Lav Ministers frotn the Churches in the Deanery of Brkdlington. Through mission and outreach work in their parishes the Trustees are endeavouring to ease the situation of those sleeping rough on the str¢¢ts of Brid11n￿on and elsewhere and thereby Case the homelessness situation in the lowi]. Financial report The accounts for the year to 5th April, 2025 show £9081 excess of receipts over payments. The monthly income lost from one empty room per month amounts to between £783 and £823 Lost income fron] empty rooms h&s cost the Charitv a total of £11,522 during the year. The Ioss of income from empty rooms seriously affects the T￿￿tee5, ability to improve the financial resources of the Charity and therefore impacts on the Charity s long-terni financial resilience. Trustees, report eontinued Havelock Str¢et had to have major and costly improvements. Much of the propety w&$ re￿rbIShtd. W]ilst the property was empty the charity was not in receipt of Housing Benefit. Green Pastures kindly agreed a I&￿e payment suspension during this period for both properties foT August and S¢ptember. Subsequently. a debt of £5151 was accrued which is being paid off on a monthly basis and due to fEnish in October 2025. At the end of the financial year the debt owed w&8 £2981. Much of this cosL as well as helping towards the cost of the wages of the Housing Support oificers. has been met by grants and donations totalling £8414. The names of the Trustslorganisations who have kindly supported Hope Housing with Grants during the year are:. Grantscape BramaIl Foundation Lions Bridlington Bridlington Charity Trustees Leeds Building Society In addition to this, Churches in the Town of Bridlington. indiN'iduaI donations and regular giving by Direct Debit payments from individuals. amounts to £17803. Without this flnancial support the Charity could not continue. At th¢ AGM in October 2024 the diifjcult financial situation was discussed. As a Tesult the Charity was blessed with a number of four figure donations and an increase in the number of people giving donations on a monthly basis. Praise God. The Trustees have also arranged fvnd raising events in the year and this h&s raised a further £3966. Other llew initiativ¢s are planned for fund raising throughout the forthcoming year. There is much optimism for the success and future of the Charity. Th¢ Tnlstees do realise that this will continue be a challenge and can only be achieved by the continued support of Grants, financial giving, volunteers and pTayer.
