Summary
ofthe main
achievements
ofthe charity
during the year
The group continued
to grow financially,
the Welsh Governments
30hour
Chiidcare scheme has proved to be highly popular and beneficial to
Deganwy
Playgroup.
There was a large intake ofnew children tothe care ofgroup which
resulted
in operating a waiting
list as sessions were full.
The popularity
of Deganwy
Playgroup
and it's good reputation
in the local
community
grew during a difficul time in the world.
The Covid-19 situation
brought asecand lockdown.
Unlike the previous
lockdown,
Deganwy
Playgroup
continued tooperate. There was a
reduction
in the attendance ofsome ciiildren which impacted
income but
not by agreat deal asthe Welsh Government's
30hr childcare scheme
continued
to pay out regardless
ofwhether
chiidren attended or not.
2
members ofstaff were furloughed
during this time, and they received a
top up payment tothe cost ofthe group.
Fundraising
was put on hold forthis financial
period due to Covid
restrictions.
A few grants were received from the local authority to help with increased
costs because of the virus, i.e., Increased cleaning costs.
Session costs have remained the same since the last increase
in 201/.
Staff changes —A new Play leader was employed
in May to replace
Shoziun Ahmed who left the employment
ofthe group.
Bibi Parry also
left.
New trustees were appointed
at the AGM in July.
