Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
Our activities this year have been significantly curtailed by the pandemic, however:
We have made a number of applications for grant funding this year, including a significant application for capital funding to provide dedicated teaching premises.
We have consulted with the Principal and Chief Instructor of a sailing school in Devon, to guide our process towards RYA accreditation.
We have continued to write policies and operating procedures to ensure that our training meets RYA standards, and that members of the community who access our facilities can do so safely and confidently.
We have funded more training so that our sail training can be delivered to a standard commensurate with RYA accreditation, including safe instruction and on-water safety cover.
We have liaised with committees of local sailing clubs regarding use of facilities and changes that need to be made to achieve accreditation. The trustees have met this year, to consider policies, make decisions and agree the accounts and annual report.
We have received donations to help us pursue some of these achievements.
