Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

Friends of Jack Tizard fundraises for activities and resources to enhance the wellbeing and education of students at Jack Tizard School and in the west London Community. In particular, it seeks to enhance the wellbeing of students, local disabled children and young people, and their families by extending the use of the school's state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool after school, at the weekends.

The primary fundraising objective since the formation of the Charity has been to raise funds to replace the specially adapted school minibus for Jack Tizard School. With this as the initial target very little expenditure has been made in relation to other charitable objectives mainly consisting of leavers’ presents for the students of Jack Tizard and entry fees to the London Marathon to promote further fundraising.

In setting the objectives and planning our activities the Trustees have given careful consideration to the guidance issued by the Summary of the main Charity Commission on public benefit. activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

Funds raised came from a number of sources including regular and one off donations from parents and local businesses. Organised events such as charity walks raised further funds though these activities were inevitably curtailed by the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The closure of the Big Splash Trust, a charity closely associated with Jack Tizard School, brought about two significant changes at the beginning of 2021. Firstly, in order to be able to continue the work of the Big Splash Trust in extending the use of the school's state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool to all local disabled children and young people and their families after school, at the weekends and in the school holidays, our charity’s objects were extended to incorporate this. This in turn enabled the Big Splash Trust to transfer the balance of their funds, which were in excess of £64,000, to Friends of Jack Tizard.

Since the year end our charity has been able to provide funds to enable a limited summer programme at the hydrotherapy pool and will look to continue this involvement in the future.
