Achievements & Performance during the year

During the year, the charity has continued the legacy of the unincorporated Morley & District Lions Club, which received its Charter from Lions Clubs International on 10 February 1978.

The relationship with the Morley Neighbourhood Team, which brings together the NHS and Social Services, to assist the neediest in the local community has continued.

Following the relaxation of the Covid pandemic restrictions, the Club was able to return to a more normal programme of fund-raising events.

The charity continued to collect unwanted spectacles for recycling before being sent to Africa.

By the end of the year, the membership of the Club had decreased by 2 to 8.

Financial Review

Expenditure has exceeded current income by £463.94, being the pandemic legacy.

Reserves Policy

The policy of the charity is, wherever possible, to distribute income received as quickly as possible, retaining a minimum reserve for administration expenses and unexpected requests for assistance.

Excluding restricted funds, the balance carried forward to the 2022/23 year is £6,143.24, which is considered to be a prudent reserve

Source of Funds

The main sources of funds are grants, fundraising events, and individual donations
