Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 The charity has enjoyed a successful year
on many fronts, not least financially where
despite various challenges, we managed to
return a surplus of £6500. This in the main
was achieved by the award of three grants
totalling £10,000. The Day Centre keeps its
fees at a very low level to ensure inclusion
thus the need for outside funding.
Donations and fundraising also raised over
£5000. We have sustained a healthy
number of members (30) who have
continued to benefit from our weekly
service. The sourcing of suitable and willing
volunteers continues to be a challenge. We
have developed our afternoon
entertainments’ programme as well as
introduced a regular seated exercise
programme.
Our members feel valued and respected
and benefit from the range of activities we
offer…a happy side effect is the respite that
is received once a week by family and
carers. Our provision also helps to mitigate
and delay serious issues facing the elderly
thus relieving local health services. Our
Monday Club has been an integral part of
the community for over fifty years now and
we are proud of the service we provide
thanks to the hard work of a very loyal
group of volunteers.
