Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Since its foundation in 2018 and
registration in 2019, Macclesfield Pride
has worked alongside Macclesfield
Town Council and local agencies,
businesses and supportive individuals,
to promote equality, inclusion and
acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community,
in our town and local area. The
Trustees, through a working Committee
and utilising volunteer help, have held
one major annual Pride event each year
and also many other smaller events to
fulfil our various objectives.
This includes our 3rd Picnic in the Park,
which showed a wider benefit of the
community as a whole experiencing the
beauty and advantage of nature in our
wonderful parks.
Through the work of Macclesfield Pride,
attitudes have changed, people have
been educated and lives have been
enhanced by the freedom and more
inclusive atmosphere that has resulted.
