| Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts. Para 1.17 and 1.19 Exmoor Young Voices (EYV) is a voluntary group of young people from across Exmoor, seeking viable and sustainable ‘life’ and ‘work’ opportunities for young residents. We tackle many issues for young people on the moor, including housing, digital inclusion, childcare, employment, communications, travel and local wages. We aim to engage with young people across Exmoor (covering parts of West Somerset and North Devon), listen to their issues, offer dedicated support from expert advisers and report their experiences to key policy decision-makers. Ultimately, Exmoor Young Voices strives for positive action that prioritises young people’s needs. Our golden goal is to prevent young people from needing to leave Exmoor, forced to start a life elsewhere. In February 2019, we registered Exmoor Young Voices as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. This has significantly strengthened our position and enabled us to access further support and assistance. We continue to work closely with five local housing associations/ charities: Caractacus Housing, Falcon Rural Housing, North Devon Homes, LiveWest, & Magna, & Exmoor National Park Authority, local councils, forums and other voluntary organisations who can impact the lives of young residents. As far as we're aware, Exmoor Young Voices is the only organisation of its kind in National Parks and AONB. We are keen to develop partnerships with other National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty to support them in setting up Young Voices representative groups. Together, with a collective, stronger voice, we will drive the critical changes young people in rural areas so desperately need. Main Activities 1. Maintain and support 940 young adults, helping young residents and workers to stay on Exmoor, contributing to population balance, environment, communications, opportunities & the economy 2. Educate public authorities, Consultative Forums, and Parish Councils, about the needs of Exmoor young adults re: housing, rents, mortgages, finance, planning, sites, Section 106, childcare, employment, digital inclusion, travel costs, wages 3. Partner Exmoor National Park, Somerset and Devon Councils, Caractacus, other councils and housing authorities 4. Raise funds for development activities 5. Communicate regularly across Exmoor National Park and its fringes to reduce rural isolation and increase opportunities for social mobility 6. Participate in the Local Community Network 7. Inform Housing Associations and authorities of the housing need 8. Maintain Foundation Grants to a small loan fund for housing young workers and residents 9. Maintain EYV’s Partnership with Lendology, a loans and grants organisation 10. Maintain the promise of three Exmoor cottages as legacies 11. Support individual cases for housing young adults and families 12. Continue to action the follow up Summit of the major authorities for pledges about how they will prioritise the needs of young adults. 13. Maintain pro bono advisory services for self build, finance, fund raising, housing, childcare, legislation and opportunities 14. Service the self build project for young adults in housing need 15.
