achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 The Spring festival presented 8 concerts by
high calibre artists from around the world.
Highlights included performances of
Schubert Trout Quintet, Strauss
Metamorphosen, Dvorak and Brahms’ String
Quintets alongside lesser known works by
Weinberg, Bacewicz, Ginastera and a
performance of Martin Butler’s American
Rounds in the presence of the composer.
Audience feedback and the reviews we
received from critics were very positive
indicating our most successful festival to
date. Two further fundraising concerts,
during the year were both also very well
received.
Although our education work was still
impacted by limited access to schools due to
Covid, we put on 8 schools concerts and
workshops, a masterclass and worked with
Hampshire County Youth Orchestra at their
annual residential course. Our family concert
during the festival is now pay-as-you-wish, to
help with first access to live performances.
