Para 1 Our Charitable Activities In Lionistic Year
2024-2025:
During 2024/2025 our activities have
included marshalling at Conquer Cannock for
the Roy Castle Charity 10k event, participating
in running stalls at Sandon Village Fete,
marshalling at Katherine House Hospice
Memory Walk, fundraiser for CCPA, our
murder mystery evening raised £1000,
attended Gotta Sing concerts to raise money
for PSA testing, visiting Lions Club in Rimbach
Weschnitztal Germany.
We have ongoing service projects:
recycling spectacles and hearing aids,
telephones and scrap metal, monthly
stewarding at St Mary’s Church, loaning
out of wheelchairs and other equipment,
training of camera operatives for the vision
screening camera, mentoring a school
based Alpha Leos Club, hosting our annual
carers party, 21 food bags donated to
young carers via Families First, cleaning of
the Lions shelter at the National Memorial
Arboretum, Vision screening in Stafford
Primary Schools for year reception
children, PSA screening for 258 men
Stafford Lions Club has financially
supported the following:£100 monthly
donation to a Stafford Food Bank, £240
sponsorship for a kit man at Stafford Rangers
Football Club, £100 donation to Eye Cancer
Trust, £400 donated to Stafford and District
Stroke Club, £100 to Kids Cancer Charity, £500
to Lions Club International for Stoves for
Ukraine, £450 for christmas gifts for teenagers
at Staffordshire Women’s aid, £150 donation

Childhood Cancer Parents Allliance, £20 donation to LCIF flooding in Spain, £120 for Lions MD Youth Trust, £100 donation to Wildwood Community Centre, £6,000 to purchase a vision screening camera, £136 for the District Youth fund, £100 for aid work abroad, £250 for moving on packs for care leavers, £500 for Head and Neck cancer ward, £50 for christmas tree festival, £100 donation to new Boys Brigade We donated and sponsored a medical detection dog and also a dog through dogs for the blind. We have done ‘gleaning’ for pumpkins which we gave to the ‘Fairshare’ Charity. Fundraising: The majority of our normal fundraising mainly takes place in November and the festive season when we do bucket collections accompanied by Santa’s Elves and a Lion in supermarkets and shopping areas in Stafford and Penkridge. We also raise money through delivering a local directory on a monthly basis. Food: We hold annual food collections in January and July. The food was distributed by a local foodbank.
