| Beginners' course 2020/2021 had 24 applicants induding two junior |
||||
| students. Two theory sessions for the 2019/2020 cohort were held with |
||||
| all further instruction suspended due to Covid restrictions on social |
||||
| distancing and public gatherings In September 2020, a small number of |
||||
| practical sessions were held at the Association Apiary to aid beginners |
in | |||
| making final winter preparations for their colonies. Appropriate so Mal |
||||
| distancing guidelines ware observed at all times. |
||||
| A programme of eight Zoom based thaoiy sessions was sat up for the |
||||
| 2020/2021 intake ofbeginners and the previous years' beginners to be |
||||
| held in the early months of2021.A total of37beginners signed up forthe |
||||
| coul'se. | ||||
| BBKAModule examinations were cancelled in 2020 with entries deferred |

| During the past year, we have further developed the land to provide for |

| 'wildflower meadow' which will ba sowed in the Autumn of2021. |
||||
| Further equipment has been acquired toenhance the two established |
||||
| apiaries and thus improve the facility for both new beekeepers and our Hornet |
||||
| Baa Improvement apiary |
||||
| A storage shed has been constructed which now safely houses |
||||
| beekeeping aquiprnant and provides aworkshop forthe repair, |
||||
| construction and provision ofthis equipment. |
||||
| Asian | ||||
| Members ofthe L&DBKA AHAT team attended a conference hosted by |
||||
| the BBKAin February 2020 to leam mora about this non-native Invasive |
' | |||
| species. In Septembar2020 as part ofthe BBKA's 'Asian Hornet week |
||||
| members ofthe L&DBKA AHAT team provided information and answered |
||||
| question from members of the public from a stall in the Ludlow Market to |
||||
| raise awareness ofthe threat of Asian Hornets to honey bae populations. |
||||
| Due to Covid restdctions there were no other public events during the |
||||
