||||Beginners' course 2020/2021 had 24 applicants<br>induding<br>two junior||
||||students.<br>Two theory sessions for the 2019/2020 cohort were held with||
||||all further instruction<br>suspended<br>due to Covid restrictions<br>on social||
||||distancing<br>and public gatherings<br>In September 2020, a small number of||
||||practical sessions were held at the Association<br>Apiary to aid beginners|in|
||||making<br>final winter preparations<br>for their colonies. Appropriate<br>so Mal||
||||distancing<br>guidelines<br>ware observed at all times.||
||||A programme<br>of eight Zoom based thaoiy sessions was sat up for the||
||||2020/2021<br>intake ofbeginners<br>and the previous years' beginners<br>to be||

||||BBKAModule examinations<br>were cancelled<br>in 2020 with entries deferred||

||||During the past year, we have further developed<br>the land to provide for|a|
||||'wildflower<br>meadow'<br>which<br>will ba sowed<br>in the Autumn<br>of2021.||
||||Further equipment<br>has been acquired toenhance the two established||
||||apiaries and thus improve<br>the facility for both new beekeepers<br>and our<br>Hornet||
||||Baa Improvement<br>apiary||
||||A storage shed has been constructed<br>which now safely houses||
||||beekeeping<br>aquiprnant<br>and provides aworkshop<br>forthe repair,||
||||construction<br>and provision ofthis equipment.||
||||Asian||
||||Members ofthe L&DBKA AHAT team attended<br>a conference<br>hosted by||
||||the BBKAin February 2020 to leam mora about this non-native<br>Invasive|'|
||||species.<br>In Septembar2020<br>as part ofthe BBKA's 'Asian<br>Hornet<br>week||
||||members ofthe L&DBKA AHAT team provided<br>information<br>and answered||
||||question<br>from members of the public from a stall in the Ludlow Market to||
||||raise awareness<br>ofthe threat of Asian Hornets to honey bae populations.||
||||Due to Covid restdctions<br>there were no other public events during the||
||||year.||
