SOUTH NORTHANTS YOUTH ENGAGEMENT TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2025 The Trustees are pleased lo present their report and financial statements for the year to 31 March 2025. South Northanls Youth Engagement ISNYEI has recorded another productive year ol operation in providing an essential youth service lo local young people. The Charity has effectively managed ils resources 2nd delivery in response to growing demand for our youth provision. We gained confidence for future Dperalion through a sigr>ific8nt grant awarded ?1 the end of this period. SNYE achieved success in our strategic aims, parbcularly through developing new partnerships, securing eSenla1 financ¢- and expanding our tcam. Our two Youth Engagement 81eering groups.. Brackley IBYEI and Towcester ITYEI continued to provide a forum for partnership working with other youth provision and services. Our yQLlhwork maintained ils focus on our existing youth clubs, holiday programmes and ?clivity days and this year we opened a second youth dub in Towcesler, picked up several enquiries for youth provision". and conlr8cled youth work delivery with a new provider. We also brought groups of young people together for our first Youth Council meetings in both towns. SNYE runs IM youth clubs in BraGkley, one at the Leisure Centre for ages 11-15 and one at Soulhfields School forjunioTS age 9-10. In Towcester. we started our first youth club last ye8r at the Community Cer>lre for 13-16-year-olds and followed up this year opening a new youth club for the younger age group 10-12. Through our youth clubs, holiday provision and skate projects, 3,3DO children and volunteers benefitted from our services12024'. 2,4391, an increase of 861. Planned youth club aclivilie5 included NAYC Games 2nd Crafts. crime awareness. silent disco, Iherapèulic art. karaoke, sports coaching, wellbeing sessions, visits froni local police officers, film nights and graffiti art sessions. We received the message below from parents whose daughter attended one of OL¢r youth clubs.. labbrevi31ed version) Our daughter M was very happy at our localprimary school but was unable lo go lo oIir 17earest sgcondary sol?ool due lo being over-subscribed. S17e went lo anoll?erscl?ool willioul a siiigle friend and foiind the transilion lo 'big school. during Covid. understandably lonely and difficult. The handful ofnew friends she made all left and she was Ihen bullffed by a number of boys and began lo suffer WIIIF anxiety, unable lo e8f or leave the house lo go lo school. We look the @IuGtant deusion lo enrol her in an online schi)ol aipd she missed the gUlar in-person contact with herpeers. AÈtendAng the SNYE youth groiip has been an absolute lifeling. She's made several friends and the staff and otheryoiiths 8llending the group. have made h8r feel welcome and incliided. She enjoys all the activities and the fun and general banler with other teenagers. It's fair lo say its given her back her confidence and a level of h8ppiiiess she previously enioved with her friends al primary school. Attending the youth group is one of the highlights of her week. We want lo eXpsS ourgralilude for all that SNYE Youth Gnip have done. SNYE is affiliated with Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs INAYCI who support over 100 youth clubs and provide training, aclivilies, resources and advice for the voluntary youlh sector. We accessed much of this support for our youth clubs and volunteer team, including Activity Visi15 and Training ISa*eguarding and Fir51 Aid). This year NAYC recognised SNYE by awarding us the prestigious Presidents Cup at their AGM, and they also presented us with the 'Youlh Group of the Year, trophy al their Annual Awards Cèremony. SNYE ran holiday clubs in Brackley and Tow¢ester during the school breaks in May and Oclobttr hall terms including the summer holidays, providing mulli-arts sessions which consisted of arts & crafts. sports, bakin9, music, games and dants. Our Play and Aclivty Days ran during the Slimmer break al both Brackley and Towcesler. These free community events are for families with children and young people to enjoy a range of fun atlraclions and activities alongside various stalls aboijl local services. They were very SLJc¢essfLJI with well over 2.000 people allending each event.

Each council is organised and led by a Youth Worker who started as a volunteer with our charity and is now pursuing a youth work qualification. The councils have 12 active member5 involved in a variety of projects, including fundraising activities such 8$ bake sales and running Sants Grottos al the Town Council Christmas events. Last year, the Youth Council raised approximately £950 to support ils aclivitses and the youth Clubs. The SNYE charity 15 run by a board of Trustees representing the loc31 council, community and youth work. We employ four part-lime staff lo run our youth provision.. a Youth Engagement Manager and 3 Youth Workers, who are supported by C88Lt81 staff for administration dutleJ and 7pecIfiC proj¢¢l-. Our voILtnleer team arè recruited and given support through induction. mentoring 8nd training opportunities. We have a Safeguarding Policy and Officer. and all trustees. staff and volunteers are DBS checked. In April we said goodbye lo Melanie. thanking her for serving as SNYE Trtjstee for 5 years, and wished her well in returning lo professional employment. Vve thank and appreciate our volunteèr team who consistently give their lime ane energy to support our youth provision throughout the year, arsd saw the team grow from 25 10 35 people. In addition, our volunteers supported several community events includin9, Towcester Volunteer Fayre. North&mplon Youth Summil and BraGkley Leisure Centre Community Fun Day. Teddy Bears Picnic, Towcesler Primary School Summer Fayre and Brackley Stjmmer Feslival. SNYE is a charitable organisalion dependent on Grant Funding and Fundraising to finance our work. Following diligent efforts. we were pleased lo secure three yèars ol funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for our youth provision and delivery. Our Business Plan has ambiliouy goals. This year we celebrated the opening of the long awaited BrackEey Sk2tep2rk and made progress on other significant goals lo achieve over the next 3-5 years. These include new Youth centres, more qualified Youth workers and detached Youlhwork. expanding ruTal youth provision, and improved largeled services for young people.

The TrLJStees consider that a reserve sufficient to cover 3 months normal expenditure should be established. Consequentially, the Trustees are working lo maintain a reserve fund of £8,000. Risk Management The Trustees monitor the risks associated with its core activities. All employees and volunteers are DBS checked and are trained to ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and inclusive manner. Basis of prèparation The accounts are prepared under the historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or trans8clion value unless otherwise slated in the relevant nolelsl lo these accounts. The accounts have been prepared in accordan with the Slalemenl of Recommended Practice.. Accounting and Reporting by Charities pparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicablè in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 issued on 16 July 2014 2nd with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the unit Kingdom and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 and with the Charities Act 2011.
