TAR
| Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public beneft in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public beneft) |
To promote the arts for the public beneft in particular but not exclusively by: 1) Providing an accessible and afordable performance venue, for the residents of Stafordshire and its surrounding counties. 2) Advancing the education of the performing arts, theatre, music, dance and cinema to further the development of public appreciation. |
|---|---|
| Our aim is to provide a vibrant event space for the growing town of Stone and surrounding areas. People from various established community groups have joined together to form the Crown Wharf Theatre charity with the aim of creating an afordable and accessible facility for the whole community. This project is about creating enhanced local access to arts and culture, advancing education and learning for children and adults and inspiring community participation across a range of performing arts and cultural activities. In light of the pandemic we wanted to be there to support our community in once again engaging with each other and the place that they live. We started the year with an online event accessible to all and as confdence grew throughout the year, so did our ofering, most importantly with many events completely free to attend. The signing of the lease and the opening of the pub gave us both ownership and a venue to begin hosting events from and a base to meet with potential sponsors, users, supporters, and volunteers. Having something to showcase, really helped strengthen support and confdence in the project from all sides. We confrm that the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public beneft. |
