| Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit) |
Association of Polish Engineers in Great Britain organises lecturers, trainings, courses, workshops, seminars and conferences. Provides mentoring and coaching programs and a meeting forum for people interested in engineering, construction and science subjects. |
|---|---|
| Overview The trustees confirm that all activities have been designed and delivered in accordance with the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. In 2024, the Association of Polish Engineers in Great Britain advanced its charitable objectives through a broad range of initiatives. Knowledge Sharing and Training Under this theme, the Association delivered a series of lectures and workshops as part of the “Czwartek4You” banner. Sessions explored topics including the Colne Valley Viaduct—the UK’s longest railway bridge—innovations in brain technologies, practical applications of Google Maps for business, geotechnical solutions to combat climate change, and creative approaches in construction. Additionally, the Technical Academy provided targeted project management workshops, and an “Architectural Moments” event offered insights into contemporary trends in architecture. Collaboration and Networking The charity strengthened its international links by participating in and supporting various conferences and training events. Notable events included the EFPSNT AGM in Heidelberg, training sessions in Dubai and the Emirates, and the World Engineering Day Celebration in Warsaw. Publishing and Digital Engagement A dedicated social media bot disseminated regular posts on engineering topics and promoted initiatives such as the “Polish Your English” series, which introduced technical vocabulary while addressing current engineering issues like COP29 and innovative methane conversion processes. In addition, an online blog featured extended articles on a diverse range of subjects, from public health discussions to recommendations for engineering-focused YouTube channels. Community Outreach Community engagement was enhanced through the “Profesjonaliści z Młodzieżą po Polsku” meeting, which brought together Polish professionals and youth from Polish Saturday Schools. Furthermore, a festive Christmas celebration united members and supporters of the Association, featuring traditional elements such as barszcz and pierogi. These activities have significantly contributed to promoting professional development, fostering international collaboration, and enhancing community engagement for the public benefit. |
