Our response to Covld-19 Our Theork is powered by volunteers movin8 around their community. collecting donated products Irom drop offs point5 in their locality and dlstributing them back to community partners. Many of our projects are still active but at reduced capacSty In accordance with Government and Public Health England guidelines. Closureof businesses which hosted our collection point5. individualsworking from home. and rationed shopping at the beglnning of lockdown meant product donations decreased significantly. In response, we pivoted quickly and reached out to numerous brands to request product donations. We are fortunate in that their response has been positive and we have been able to get products to those of u5 In need. For example, our retail partner Boots have glven the charity over £2m of e55ential products. These brand donatlons come bulk and on pallets so we had to find new way5 of operating as many ol our local projects are run out of our volunteerfs homes who cannot receive a pallet of products, Instead we directed lar8e volumes of goods to be sent directly to 5choo15 in areas ol dÈprivatlon Isuch as Blackpool. Leeds, Birmln8haml and communlty hubs set up by local ¢ounclls to support growlng numbers of those of us who have been swept Into poverty. We also have collectlon polnts In over 245 Boots stores across the UK. We are aware that there wlll be many more ol us than before struggling financially and in need. We have continued to operate the evolved operatlng model working ¢l¢sely with various brands to accept and distribute brand donatlons to as many of our projects as posslble.
