Para 1.20 | This year, playgroup has provided care and education to over 30 children. Swn y Don Playgroup is a small, friendly, setting providing a happy, stimulating and supportive environment for pre-school children aged between 2 and 4 within the framework of the Early Years Foundation Phase Curriculum, where each child can have the opportunity to grow in every aspect of their development. which is the Advancement of Education continue to support the provision through the application of grants. The children engage in activities which encourage a wide range of activities which aim to encourage their academic, social and physical development at an age and stage appropriate level. The children have access to toys, resources and activities which aim to develop their health and wellbeing, expressive arts and their knowledge of language, literacy, communication, mathematics and numeracy science and technology to prepare them for their journey in to full time education. Playgroup has a close working relationship with Ysgol Swn y Don, and most of the children attending Playgroup will eventually go on to attend this school. The Playgroup promotes healthy lifestyles and encourages good general hygiene routines such as handwashing. |
The Playgroup provides employment for three full time staff, three part time staff and a student. Playgroup has children attending who are part of have children whose parents are able to take advantage of the 30 hour childcare scheme. attend Playgroup in the afternoon and can be offered full day care. Swn y Don Playgroup also runs an After School Club for up to 15 Children between the hours of 14:45 and 17:45, enabling Parents to work a full day.

Para 1.21 The playgroups financial position is good at the end
financial position at the end of March 2021. The Playgroup had £19,047.81 in

majority of its money from funding from Flying
Start, 3yr Funding and 30hr funding which will
continue each year. The majority of the expenses
are wages but these are covered by the grants we
receive. The playgroup rents the room from Ysgol
Swn y Don (CCBC) at £335.00 per qtr.
The accounts for the playgroup are Audited every
August. The last Audit was 31 [st] March 2021.
