2021 ANNUAL ACCOUNTS
Annual Financial Review
for the Year Ended 31[st] August 2021
For obvious reasons, a very quiet year. The regular large earners, the Duck Race and the Marathon, were both cancelled. The Hall was closed and Open Gardens took place in a very limited way but still earning £1,400. Some letting did take place later in the year generating a welcome £2,100.
Nevertheless, the Hall was redecorated externally at a cost of £8,664 and new cutlery was acquired at a cost if £1,680 which should make the Hall more attractive to wedding renters.
This expenditure was made possible largely through generous support payments from Dorset Council which totalled £17,543 in the year just ended and over £27,000 for the whole Covid period. We finish the year with over £24,000 in the bank and look forward to a gradual re-opening of the Hall.

The Hall’s registration as a rate paying business in the community made it eligible to claim the supplementary business rate relief grants offered by the Government to support businesses during the Covid pandemic. These grants were offered to cover the loss of income due to closures and the increased cost of operating under CovidSafe rules. The amounts are for a fixed sum and will have been received by most Village Halls of our size.
