Section D Achievements and performance

The main achievements and activities this financial year include Summary of the main continuing the publication of the Journal of Sound and Music in Games , achievements of the charity which is owned by the Society and published under contract with the during the year University of California Press (UCP). The agreement with UCP provides the Society with a royalty revenue stream (to be paid each year in arrears) with which we cover operating expenses and fund further activities in the future in line with our charitable goals. The 2021 royalty payment for the 2020 volume year was delayed and actually paid in Sept 2021, and therefore we received two payments this financial year, with the 2021 volume year royalty paid in February 2022. We appointed new co-Editors-in-Chief at the end of July 2022: Dr Elizabeth Medina-Gray and Dr Timothy Summers; Prof. Stephen Baysted remains a Trustee.

The Ludomusicology and NACVGM conferences also successfully took place and saw a small surplus, which will be utilized to support future conferences. We have designated the surpluses from each conference as restricted funds and won’t use them for other general purposes.
