the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 To assist people in need in our local
community by providing goods and
services to individuals and small local
charities. A small percentage of our
funds is sent to Lions clubs
International who use contributions
from around the world to fund crisis and
humanitarian aid in the aftermath of
major disasters.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
Thankfully we have been able to hold all
of our traditional fund raising events
such as our quiz nights, car show,
donkey derby, the schools choir
competition and our christmas
collection, which we have now
expanded to three local supermarkets.
In addition a local film studio gave us a
large number of brand new toys, which
we sold privately and at several events,,
as well as giving a large number to the
children’s ward in a local hospital.
This was the first year of running our
own free prostate cancer check clinic,
where 222 men were tested, 5 of whom
were condition red and had to have
immediate treatment and 10 were
condition orange who were put on a
watch list. Such was the success of this
that the bulk of our fundraising this year
was to fund next years event.
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit
Para 1.18 All our trustees and other members are
