Objectives and Activities Alms and ObJeetlve$ The objectlves of the CIO are.. l. The prevention of poverty of financial hardship anywhere in the worfd, in particular but not exclusively by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, health care projects and other facilities and support designed to enable Individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient,. and, 2. For the public benefit to advance the education of children and young people who are socially and econornically or just socially disadvantaged in particular but not exclusively in Kenya, in such way as the diversity trustee, think fit. STRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT Governing document The charity Is controlled by its governing document. a constitution in respect to CIO'S. Significant Activities The CIO raises money predominantly through donatlons from bu5inesse5 and individua15. Di5tribution5 are Diade to charitable projects, and the charity also pmvides resources and Information direct to institutions intended for the benefit of the projects. Publlc Beneflt The irustees revlew the oblerts and activities at least once each year to look ar what has been achieved. Reference is made to the guidance in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing objectives and planning futu￿ attivities. In particular the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the objectives set. Of which, the charity rnade outward donatlOnS totalling £36,729 to further 5UPPOrt projects in the Kenya region. Flnanelal Revlew Financial Posltion The principal source of funding during the year was donations from individuals and businesses. The receipts and payrnents account shows a deficit of £3,474 for the year. The receipts and pay￿entS 5urplu5 account tota15 £5,214 at the end of the year, and will be carried forward to be used In future years. The three trustees operate on a IOOts/o voluntary basis and receive no remuneration or benefits from the charity. Going Concern After making appropriate enquirie5, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity ha5 adeouate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing financial staternents. Additional Note FUTURE PLANS Short terrn objectives for the future is to ensure the charity has sufficient funds to recower from the 3dverse Impact resulting from the covid-lg pandemic. Additionally, to continue work with the Destiny Gates Foundation on the development OF reporting on students For sponsors, towards the objective of reporting updates three times per year. Longer term aims are to develop the high school, and build the extension for the women's empowerment centre which will anticipate creating further employment in training roles.
