The majority of the income has derived from shop sales, however the trustees consider the shop to form part of the primary purpose of the charity. As well as learning to repair and upscale items, participants also gain experience in a retail environment and in the administrative tasks associated with running a small enterprise.
The trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in section 17(5) of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Commission.
