Vthen ￿VIewIng the CIO'S aims and objectives, and further when consKlering aspeds associated future activities. the trustees remain aware and have regard to the principals of°Putlic Benefif as defined in the Charty Commission guidan￿ papers. Due to the impact of COVID19. the actNrties of Ihe Club were considerably curtailed throughout the reporting year. Due to the need to operate within the applicable law and abide by all relevant Govemment guidelines, all regutar aciivities of th8 club were postponed. The trustees consider th8 adivities and athievements of the trust satisfy the wblic benefft requirements. Throughout the year the Club continued to support local paramedics through the provision of teddy bears whith ar8 donated to siGk children who might be diSt￿ssed or otherwise when taken to hospital in an ambulance. Summary of the maln aGtivities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects {includ8 within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guldance Issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit) The Club also promoted the Lions "Message in a Bottle" and 'Message in a Walket. schemes in the local area which is viewed as a useful tool assisting paramedics when they are called out on an emergency to assist the sick and elderly. Throughout the various COVID related lockdowns. the club posted a regular quiz. to FKovMle light relief for Horfey residents. A number of activities run by the Club have the dual beneficial impact of providing entertainment for the public yet at the same time being run with the sp8Ctfic intention of raising funds to meet the Trusts charitable aim8 and objectives. During the year, these activities included.. In De￿mber 2020, members of the club escorted Father Christmas around the streets of Horley. Members of the club also completed street collections. Proceeds to local youth organisations and sick children. This was curtailed by a sudden COVID related lockdown. In March 2021, the club organised a series of Easter Egg raffles in local pubs. Unfortunately, due to a sudden COVID related lockdown these raffles were curtailed. Wnilst some of the eggs were successfully raffled, not all were, leading to financial losses for the club. Afl income of the CIO is used to promote its aims and objectives. No part of the CIO Fund may be applied without the prior approval of the members of the Club. V4hilst Ft is the policy of the trustees to ensure that donations are given to organisations, individuals and charitTres in the local area, on occasions donations V￿11 be given in support of other Lions Intemational projects both na'onal and intemational, which for the most part is routed through Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF).
