Dementia Together Wirral continues to achieve the object as stated above by continuing and expanding those services by offering memory cafes, music/singing groups, arts & craft groups, walking group and days out by coach and narrowboat trips.

The above services were severely interrupted and suspended in line with HM Government restrictions due to the various coronavirus pandemic lockdowns.

The is aim for the charity to continue to support its service users in line Summary of the main with its forthcoming Strategy for 2021-2026 to be introduced in line with activities undertaken for the its Constitution to achieve its objectives (vision and mission) for the public public benefit in relation to benefit within its declared geographic area. these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Grants are sought and applied for on an ad hoc basis when potential sources offer fund availability. No formal policy is maintained at present.

No investment is currently made nor predicted other than through day-today operational purchases.

A nominal cash reserve is maintained as cover of such eventualities that may occur due to sudden decline of service for unspecified reasons.

Volunteers are the mainstay of the charity, each giving time and effort freely thus enabling the charity to perform. New volunteers are always welcome based on their experience of dementia in order to adapt to our environment.

Dementia Together Wirral acknowledges the support given by various venues by way of free use of facilities allowing the charity to offer its services.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

During the year 2020-2021, Dementia Together Wirral added further venues and activities to its calendar only to be thwarted by the various pandemic caused lockdowns so a staggered calendar resulted whilst maintain contact with the housebound with volunteers running errands, collecting medicines and generally supporting its service users.

A scheme was developed based on the development of offering free loan of activity boxes containing all sorts of memorabilia by way of old phots, toys, artifacts from the past, local books and magazines and games. These were exchanged at the door step on a monthly basis whilst observing the sanitation precautions. The scheme has gone from strength-to-strength and continues as an alternative for the housebound to that of visiting the activity groups.

Talks, church fairs, supermarket fundraising and the like were put on hold.
