The Mid Wales Music Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (no. 1179225), registered with the Charity Commission on 17 July 2018. The charity replaced the previous Mid Wales Music Trust (no. 1130828) which has been dissolved. The original charity had been in existence since 2009 and was governed by a trust deed. To advance the education, appreciation, and knowledge of the public in the art of classical music, through the promotion of classical music and live performance in general for the public benefit in and for Mid Wales.

At the meeting of the Trustees on 24 August 2021, it was agreed that from September 2021 the Mid Wales Music Trust would deliver its charitable object by focusing its work around raising funds, principally through donations from individuals, to support charities and partner organisations to deliver high quality performances and music education projects for the public benefit in and for Mid Wales.
