Members give their time weekly to plan future fundraising events, in particular, a major effort was put into effect to support the Riding for the Disabled Centre in Rossington, Rossington Cancer Charily, The Aurora Can￿r Centre at Doncaster Royal Infimiary & The Martin House Hospice matched funding appeal through the Lions Clubs International Foundation We also supporl and other members of the community. plus communrty groups seeking our help. Promoting the voluntary sector to the public benefit. The continued use of social media, magazine publications and membership campaigns to encourage others to get involved and to give for the public good. Indeed, our club membership and involvement of volunteers conts'nues to grow. Promoting volunteering. We promote our fundraising and grant making through social media platforms, as well as press and magazine releases. We let it be known that volunteering supports community groups and individuals, often in the most drfficult of circumstances, but to bring help to those in need of our support and always maintaining due diligence and total confidentiality. Several of our members also volunteer for other Charitable organisalions and community groups. SignifirAnt support {£3,793) was provided to local schools and young persons community groups for educational needs and equipment. Our club has a well-deveSot*d system for the collection of used spectacles for distribution lo less developed countries. Message in a Bottle initiative involves the provision of MIAB free of charge to the elderly and infinn, our MIAB officer regularly gives explanatory presentations to all interested organisations. We support local clubs and organisations, we have 8 main focus areas. which are. Vision and the prevention of sight loss. Yo￿h. through sports and schools, disaster relief. humanitarian aid, diabetes, Hunger, by supporting foodbanks, Ihe environment and childhood cancer, these are the 8 Global Causes of LCIF. Promoting the benefit of conservation protection and the improvement of the physical and natural environmenL We carry out 'irtter picking, tree planting and bulb planting initiatives with other interested local volunteers and organisations. Promoting community partlcipatson in healthy recreation. We have supported local community ￿ntres, libraries and good neighbour organisations bvho provide educational and other activities for young and old alike. We have provided support for many local schools, football clubs and other welfare and sports facilities. Local businesses and our members donate prizes andlor sell tickets to raise funds for our charrtable work. The emergency services know to look for a container in the fridge that has the prescription, personal and contact details of the resident. Spectacle Collections. Section D Section E Achievements and performance Financial review A reserve is held which the trustees consider sufficient to Gover any project or event liabilrties should any such project or evenl failing to generate sufficient income. Regard has always been placed on the Christmas Sleigh event failing to take pla￿ possibly due to extreme weather conditions or the possibility of some other reason. Equipment Expenditure Historically the club has beneffted from use of a local resident's barn to store our equipmenl. This year thal facilily has been withdrawn due to a house move. We were unable to source another store area so purchased a used shipping container. Total cost of the project including racking and refurbishment was £1,987. This was deemed essential to stote the equipment used in our fund-raising activities. We were offered a used PA system in ex￿lIent working order. The club elected to purchase this for £300. It is an essential piece of equipment for outdoor events such as our car showslHalloween events. It will in futur& save future costs in hiring such equipment, resulting in quick payback. Both are included in equipment costs for this year. This document shows that expenditure has directly supported a51 the charities key obj'ectives,. the charity does not have an investment portfolio.
