APWGG AGM

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AT 7.00PM ON THURSDAY 20[TH] MARCH 2025

AT ALLESLEY PARK COMMUNITY CENTRE

1. Present: Nina Kennedy (Chair), Colin Walker (Treasurer), Ruth Wills (Company Secretary), Keith Parkins, Ching Hua Ma, Keith Draper, Angela McCaan, Graham Foxwell, Carl Cheney, Apologies: Tim Claye

2. Nina welcomed those present and thanked them for attending

3. Nina read the minutes of the 2023 AGM (there wasn’t an AGM in 2024) – there were no matters arising

4. Nina read the Chairman’s Report for 2024

5. Nina read the Treasurer’s Report on behalf of Colin for the year 2024 and mentioned that due to health issues, Colin would not be standing for re-election as Treasurer at this AGM. She thanked him for his hard work over the past few years and wished him well

6. Membership update: Nina said that due to no one taking responsibility for this role over the past few years, membership numbers had fallen. Angela McCaan has volunteered to take on the role, and will review how we currently recruit and retain members, and will hopefully be able to increase our membership numbers

7. Election of O�icers: All O�icers stood down and were re-elected / elected as follows:

8. Chairman: Nina re-elected and proposed by Ruth and seconded by Helen

9. Treasurer: Graham nominated and proposed by Ruth and seconded by Ching Hua

10. Company Secretary: Ruth retiring and not standing for re-election, and no one came forward for nomination

11. General Secretary: No one came forward for nomination

12. The O�icers of APWGG are now: Nina (Kennedy Chair) and Graham Foxwell (Treasurer) and Committee members are Ching Hua, Keith Draper, Angela McCaan, Helen O’Keefe, Carl Cheney, Colin Walker

13. AOB: Keith Draper said he wished to comment on the Chairman’s Report. He said he thought more acknowledgements should have been given to those volunteers, who had in his opinion made exceptional contributions to the success of the Garden. Nina responded that his comments would be noted, although she didn’t agree with them and that her report had acknowledged the valuable contributions of ALL our volunteers, and it wasn’t appropriate to name individuals at an AGM – it wasn’t an Awards Ceremony.

Nina presented a gift voucher to Colin on behalf of the Committee, as a token of appreciation for his work as Treasurer.
