Section C Objectives and activities
The object of the CIO is the advancement of amateur sport and the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Dartmouth, the surrounding Summary of the objects of the district and their visitors by the provision of a public slipway into charity set out in its the river Dart. governing document
The Trust is planning to construct and operate a new public slipway to be used by the large group of people who use the river Dart for sport and recreation. This will include the general public and members of sailing clubs, rowing clubs, gig clubs, angling clubs, schools, canoe clubs, kayaking clubs and the rescue services (RNLI).
The Trust is working in partnership with a number of local bodies including the Town Council, the District Council, the Harbour Authority, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and local amateur sport clubs.
In exercising any powers or duties Trustees have taken regard of the Summary of the main guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission. activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Section D Achievements and performance
Consulting Engineers have completed the concept design and the Summary of the main Trust is expecting approval from the Dart Harbour Board next achievements of the charity during the year January. Subject to that approval a Detailed Planning application then will be submitted to the Local Planning Authority. Consultations with Natural England and the Environment Agency have reached an advanced stage.
